My Self reflection

In this course we had a great volunteering in special needs, that volunteering was funny and helpful this experience will affect in our life in good way and what we learn there will be useful in the future.

We organize a group and the group was four students, the volunteering was in part of Zayed Higher Organization called Abu Dhabi Club for special needs. We have to teach the special needs how to do the exercise in right way and I use to do this exercise in the club so I know how to do that in right way because if they do the exercise in wrong way then they will get injure. The interesting thing was that they have earned many gold medallions in different sports which is a good job from the disables who are playing this sports it’s a great work from special needs.

What I learn from this volunteering was very helpful in my life intel now I think about them and I say if they can do this even they are disables people but they didn’t give up and they work hard to get what they want so why I give up. I have to work hard to get what I want in my life. Also, I learn how to talk with them and how to make them feel comfortable and calm, I really thanks my teacher because if he didn’t order from as to volunteering we will not meets this people, I really enjoyed in this volunteering with my group and with the special needs people.

I am thinking about them right now and I miss them very much and I have to go there and treeing with my friend.

Also we will have an experience of dealing with the special needs people.

Planning and preparing is the most important purpose of this project.

We will improve the plan of the club in the future.

Benefits:

We are dealing with disable people and they have special needs and we should know how to deal with them, so we had prepared before meeting them by searching in websites and reading about it.

They are sensitive people and our actions sometimes reflect on them so we have to be attention to our actions.

Some skills we had learned understanding and give them the patient and support them, and listen to let them feel comfortable and gain confidence to encourage them to success and get their needs and be accepted in society.

Challenges:

Of course it might be some challenges there to pass and one of them is the comfortableness of the members (disabilities) with us, and that's considered as a big challenge and hopefully we can get through it and success with our project.

Exercise #7

LSH 2903 – Community Service – Learning /  Exercise #7
Charity and Volunteering in the UAE - Information and Activities
The UAE is famous for its hospitality and the desire to give one's time and efforts to help other people.
When I travel to other countries and talk to people about my job, the students and the UAE in general, one constant thought I hear repeatedhttp://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png is that the UAE is a very hospitable country and its people are very generous. People in the UAE often want to do things to help others, whether it is other UAE Nationals or people from other countries.
Within the UAE we see so many examples of people volunteering and giving to charities to try and help others. People do this out of the simple goodness of their hearts and to try to help other people to have a better life than they have at the moment. An obvious example is TAKATOF which promotes the idea of volunteering within the country.
Just last semester (March 2013) we had a major charity fundraising week when students, staff and teachers of ADMC raised 25,000 Dh to donate to a school in a poor village Cambodia.
The UAE is also very strongly represented in the international field of assisting people from other countries. It may be through the Red Crescent that people donate money, time or skills to try and help others. So much of the time when we hear about various international problems, the UAE is one of the first to step forward and provide assistance.
Activities
